Happy New Year 2007
Yay for 2007! 4 minutes into the new year and i am blogging. i'm at home, sitting on my bed relaxing after a day of absolutely nothing! well actually i did "clean house", if you will. basically i listed my goals (not resolutions) for 2007 and prioritized all my needs, wants and interests in hopes of having a more successful 2007. not to put 2006 down, it was definitely a year of success, but of course being me, i want and need more!
2006 was a year of change and growth for me. i moved back to my hometown of los angeles, started a new job, moved in with my boyfriend and got fat. hey, i had to add a complaint somewhere. now although most may see my accomplishments as positive steps in the right direction to reach my "goals", of course i see everything i didn't finish or get to. i also see the huge amount of debt looming over my "successful" 2006. therefore, even if i achieved many things, debt trumps all, leaving me in a worse situation than before.
ok, so what's the plan for 2007? to be motivated and passionate about what i do best, design. this in turn will potentially generate stable income, which will help my debt situation. of course this is a great plan, but we'll see if it comes to fruition.
i just looked up the definition of fruition on dictionary.com and i like what i read.
fruition
1. Realization of something desired or worked for; accomplishment: labor finally coming to fruition.
2. Enjoyment derived from use or possession.
3. The condition of bearing fruit.
i like the sound of that. fruition will be the word, the theme, the goal of the year. i especially like the third definition, "the condition of bearing fruit". it's almost biblical. my grandfather, a retired pastor, would always throw around the phrase, " to bear fruit". i always liked that phrase. now how it relates to my life, who knows? i guess that's my job to find out.
like every year in the past, i've made a goal to lose weight. well this year i listed in my goals to exercise more. no mention of losing weight. i decided that if i can't make an effort to lose weight, maybe i should try to make an effort to exercise & be healthy, which in turn will hopefully help me lose weight. so i'm consciously misleading myself to believe that i don't need to lose weight, but simply to be more active.
as for my job, it is going better than i could ever imagine, i can't wait to see what the new year holds. we've hit some snags with a break-in in the building and the server being stolen. we've also recently lost communication with our factories in China, due to the recent earthquake in Taiwan. despite the set backs, we keep on truckin. i'm hoping for more larger volume companies so we can grow even further.
all-in-all a good year. can't wait to see what's next. bring it on 2007, i'm ready, willing and can't wait to see the fruition of all my hard work... i'm gonna have to work on that!
